Behind the images
At the edge of light
Astrophotography begins where ordinary seeing reaches its limit.
My astrophotos are the result of the combination of many carefully calibrated exposures. It's only through long exposure photography that faint structures emerge: hydrogen clouds, lanes of interstellar dust, star-forming regions and remote galaxies.

Island universes seen across immense distances. Spiral arms, dust lanes and regions of new stars emerge from hours of collected light.

The universe is always sending more light
Each image is the result of planning, patience and many hours under the sky, followed by careful calibration and processing. This archive will continue to grow as new nights, targets and techniques open another view onto the cosmos.
