About Adriano Anfuso
The extraordinary
rarely announces itself
I’m a photographer, science writer and content creator, driven by curiosity, amazed by simplicity and fascinated by the beauty in the small things.

The idea behind the work
"Revealing the extraordinary in the ordinary" is about noticing what was already there.
Why I do this
Driven by curiosity
Hi! I’m Adriano Anfuso, an Italian photographer and astrophotographer based in Luxembourg. If you’ve browsed my galleries, you’ll know I spend a lot of time outdoors, quite often at night, with a camera never too far away.
Photography is how I reconnect with nature, silence, and the universe. It’s a form of mindfulness for me, a practical way to slow down, focus, and connect with the world around me.
I’m naturally drawn to authentic, quiet places: forests, remote villages, and dark horizons. Protecting these environments matters deeply, which is why I advocate for preserving natural darkness and healthy nightscapes.

How I work
Care before
spectacle
Creativity doen't require exaggeration. The strongest work often comes from restraint, patience and respect for what is really there.
Stay curious
I begin with questions, not conclusions. Curiosity keeps the work open long enough for something unexpected to emerge.
Keep it human
People are not content, and stories are not formulas. The process should feel thoughtful, collaborative and unmistakably personal.
Respect the real
Photography can interpret reality without fabricating it. Accuracy and authenticity are creative choices, not limitations.
Make it matter
A beautiful image or a clear story should leave something behind: a question, a feeling or a reason to care.

The natural night
Darkness is
not empty
The night is where many of these ideas meet for me. Beneath a dark sky, familiar landscapes become strange again, distant light becomes visible and our sense of scale changes completely.
It is also why I co-founded Nightwise. We use stargazing, creativity and science to help people reconnect with the natural night, while protecting darkness as an environmental and cultural resource.

Real moments
Every photograph begins with something that genuinely existed in front of my camera or telescope.
Editing helps me reveal what the camera captured; it does not replace the scene. No AI-generated landscapes, replacement skies or fabricated celestial details.
Interpretation is part of photography. Invention is something else.
